This 5.5×52 Robusto Extra features a rare Ecuadorian hybrid wrapper known as “Capa Marron” — a leaf that hasn’t been grown in more than a decade, with only four bales ever purchased. Beneath the wrapper lies an Ecuadorian Habano binder and a complex filler blend of Dominican Criollo ’98, Piloto Cubano, San Vicente, and USA Pennsylvania tobaccos. Handcrafted by Klaas Kelner at Kelner Cigars S.A.S. in the Dominican Republic, the Awakening delivers a rich and complex profile with notes of creamy cedar, dried tea leaves, cinnamon, cocoa nibs, creamy cashews, dark chocolate, and a distinct maple sweetness with white pepper on the retrohale.
